The annual budget of the West Des Moines Historical Society is funded in large part through the generosity of organizations and support of the community. Special thanks for recent support go to:
•Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino for a grant of $10,000 made through its 2007 Community Betterment Program. Since 1965 Prairie Meadows has contributed over $362 million to the growth and betterment of Iowa. Grants are made by the 17-member Grants Advisory Committee which is comprised of leaders representing diverse areas of interest within the Greater Des Moines Community. Our grant funds will be used to repair and restore the informal parlor (circa 1870) of historic Jordan House.

•US Cellular for their gift in October of $5,000, which will be very helpful in our efforts to maintain and preserve the Jordan House. We appreciate their generous corporate support.
• Barnes & Noble Booksellers who through their Community Relations Manager, Molly Olinger Topf, allowed us to participate in a Book Fair the day after the Holly & Ivy Tour. We received $842.70 as our percentage of sales that day to people presenting a certificate distributed during the tour.

Also contributing in 2007, the following community groups, area businesses, and volunteers have made possible the work of the West Des Moines Historical Society and the continuation of the Jordan House:
•Bravo of Greater Des Moines,
•Polk County Board of Supervisors,
•City of West Des Moines,
•West Des Moines Women’s Club,
•You, the members of the West Des Moines Historical Society, and
•The volunteers, who spend countless hours at The Jordan House.
